Fantastic establishment with truly outstanding service from the kitchen. I visited during happy hour and struggled to make a choice, but I was offered a sample of the brisket, which was exquisite - I was not let down! My group of four also ordered a sandwich called The Governor, which was absolutely delicious! And wow, the bread pudding is irresistible - I absolutely loved it! The service was exceptional, and the food certainly satisfied my BBQ cravings! I will undoubtedly return!

We went for a Saturday night dinner with friends and had a great time. Service was outstanding, food was fabulous and we enjoyed our meal at a comfortable corner table with access to the bar in an environment that allowed for conversation and without interruptions. I ordered the Governor brisket sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts. Thank goodness for takeout containers - I was able to enjoy two meals from my leftovers. Pork belly burnt ends, turkey, sliced brisket, beans, mac and cheese made up the balance of our meal for four and we agreed that everything we ordered was delicious. We were too full to try any desserts but intend to rectify this issue upon our return in the not-too-distant future.

I believe I have a review already for Oak'd BBQ at a different location in Dallas...this experience was much better! Although noticeably a sausage fest....and not just the sausage they were serving....just a lot of dudes there for BBQ! It just stood out! hahaha!!! It wasn't too difficult to get a seat after getting our food, a lot of tables around the dining area and bar, big groups and even a private room for large parties. We got a seat at a table near the bar...which was nice since you have to go to two separate areas to order...one for food and one for alcohol! I'd almost wish I could place the order for my drink at the register with my food, then drop my ticket off at the bar in a central area for them to grab it and let me know when it's ready or bring it to me. It's difficult when there are people sitting at the bar and your trying to get around them to order a drink. The system obviously works, we got drinks no problem! The wings....the smoked wings...my favorite and I will definitely be getting them the next time I am in town and go to Oak'd and they have them!! So good, juicy, tender and full of flavor!! The sides are a pass for me...both at this location and the other one I went too...just not in to it. I'll be sticking to the meats and pies!! They had one slice of pecan pie left, so I let my friend have it and got the apple. We enjoyed both!! The waygu brisket...soooo good!!! If they have it, get it. You don't get much (which is why my friend got a double order for her 3 meat plate!) but it's worth it to try it!! She also liked the burnt ends and said they were really good. Get the wings!!

I love some good Texas BBQ and this was no exception as everything was so tasty!!! Upon walking in the restaurant you will see plenty of high top picnic type tables along with other tables scattered around with a medium-sized bar area. They also have some live music on the night we were there, which was very good. Most of the dining experience is self-service as you enter the kitchen into a cafeteria-style line and place your order with the folks behind the counter. Start by reading the super large chalkboard menu in front of you - then order your meats. I tried Brisket and the Meatloaf - which was the SUPERSTAR of the meal! Loved every bite of that meatloaf...next time I am going to focus more on the meatloaf so I can get a larger portion. You add two sides, included - or more if you want - and there are so many to choose from. I did the veggies w/squash and the Brussels Sprouts. I passed on any bread, since being diabetic causes bread to make my sugar spike! You can order non-alcoholic drinks right there with your food - but if you want cocktails, etc., then you need to go to the bar and it's separate. We tried some Old-Fashioned's and they were wonderful. Would definitely go back - so much more on their menu to try and everything tasted so fresh!!! A MUST-TRY when you are in the area!

I wish I had gotten the video of the manager as I walked in. He was very personable and not to mention funny! This was my first time here, and I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was awesome as well. She explained the happy hour options although we weren't there for happy hour, and also told us about the amazing alcohol selection that they had to offer. I had the smoked wings and OMG these wings are amazing! I also had a side of Brussels and cauliflower mix and it was delicious. My drink of choice was the prickly pear vodka and I can't wait to try the other flavors as it was very smooth. I love the ambience here and the staff so I would definitely be back to try other items. Update: I returned to work and couldn't stop thinking about the wings. I went back and ordered the three meat platter to take home for dinner .. I'll still be back for happy hour

Tried oakd for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The bbq itself was good, and sides were great, but dessert selection looked better than it tasted (sad and def disappointed) You line up to order cafeteria style and the staff down the line were all very entertaining and friendly. You do get a few cookie in exchange for a Google review so there was an upside there but most of the dessert was really overly sweet. The restaurant is pretty casual and they let us stay late after they closed, since we had a larger party of people there.

SERVICE here is the real star of the show! We came on a Saturday around lunchtime, and it wasn't crowded. Two young guys were chatting up the carver about the meats, and naturally, we joined in on the questioning. Well, this carver must've been in a generous mood because he ended up giving all of us about four meat samples each--LOVE that! We finally settled on the Colonel Sandwich, which is basically a meat-lover's fever dream: bacon, brisket, jalapeño sauce, onion rings... you name it, it's in there. Honestly, it was so loaded that you couldn't taste anything specifically, so that's on me for ordering a meat mountain. We also grabbed some brisket burnt ends. There were about six pieces, and one was a little dry and chewy, but overall, pretty good. Now, let's talk fries. I normally wouldn't order fries at a BBQ joint (I read somewhere that fries are on the "do not order" list for BBQ), but the Yelp photos looked too good to pass up. And let me tell you, those hand-cut beauties did NOT disappoint! We got them well done, and they were OUTSTANDING--crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, just like fry heaven. And whatever you do, save room for dessert because this place absolutely shines in the sweets department. They've got about 10 different freshly baked cookies, cakes, and pies to choose from. We took a bread pudding to go with caramel sauce, and when we heated it up later that evening--chef's kiss--it was exquisite. So, come for the service, stay for the meat samples, and definitely save room for dessert. You won't regret it!

Oak'd is hands down one of my favorite barbecue restaurants in the metroplex! I've stopped by on a few occasions, and the consistency of their customer service and smoked meats are top-tier. The governor sandwich was a great combination of flavors. The fried onions helped it pop, and we didn't even use barbecue sauce. You could taste the smoke on the wings (A+), and they were seasoned to perfection. Next time, I'll have to get 12. The cheese fries were heaven-sent, and adding brisket was a game changer. The ambiance completed the meal, as I felt like I was in BBQ heaven. I definitely recommend!

During my visit to Dallas, I was craving some good 'ol Texas BBQ, so I stopped by OAK'D. The ordering process was very easy, and the menu had a large selection of meats and sides. I decided to order the 2-meat plate with Prime Brisket and Pork Spare Ribs to share with my friend. For sides, we chose the House Fries and Apple Cider Coleslaw. The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned. The sweet and tangy sauces complemented them well. However, the house fries were a bit inconsistent--some were crispy, while others were still soggy. The coleslaw was not really our cup of tea, as we were expecting a creamier consistency but got wet and sour cabbage instead. The service was good, and there was plenty of seating for groups of any size.
